Mohammed Hersi


Mohammed is the Group Director of Operations at Kenya’s leading inbound Tour Operator Pollmans Tours & Safaris. He is also a Director at Kenya’s leading All Inclusive beach resort The Baobab Beach Resort & Spa in Diani. He is also a Director of Taita Hills Wildlife Resorts which looks after Salt Lick Safari Lodge and Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa including the 28,000 acres private Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary in Taita Taveta County.

Mohammed is immediate past Chair of Kenya Tourism Federation the private sector umbrella association that looks after tourism industry in Kenya and he served on KEPSA board during his tenure. He is also past chair of Kenya Association of Hotelkeepers and Caterers and also Kenya Coast Tourism Association.

Mohammed is past president of Rotary club of Mombasa and also past president of Skal Kenya both for Mombasa club and National level. He was instrumental in bringing the first ever world congress to Mombasa in 2018. Skal is made of top executives globally in travel and hospitality trade.

Mohammed is trainer with Centre for Corporate Governance for the past 10+ years and he is a graduate of Kenya Utalii College and Cornel Hotel School New York and he is MBA holder from Regent Business School Durban South Africa. He is a Member of Hospitality Institute UK for the past 20+ years. He is mentor to many young upcoming managers and sits on various boards across Kenya including Vipingo Development Co which is a subsidiary of Centum Group. He is also the current chair of the advisory board of United Nations Youth Association of Kenya.

Mohammed is active social media player with over half a million followers across the various platforms. He was a winner of the Most Influential Digital Leader at the 2020 Africa Digital Influencer Awards. He has active blog where he has consistently and actively promoted matters good corporate governance both in both public and private sector. He also runs a platform that promotes SMEs in Kenya Soko Hersi.
