Adam Lane
Senior Director, Public Affairs, Huawei Southern Africa

At Huawei since 2014, and based in Nairobi since 2016, Adam is currently Senior Director, Public Affairs, and is responsible for working with governments, intergovernmental organizations, NGOs, the media and other stakeholders with a focus on the Kenya and East Africa region. Adam helps these groups understand how to use ICT for Development in their strategies, policies and programs; as well as developing partnerships and cross-sector collaboration with various actors in the ICT ecosystem including social enterprises. Adam has a strong focus on digital health in the region and is also actively engaging with those in the Internet of Things space.

Previously, Adam was based in Huawei’s HQ as a Director for Corporate Sustainable Development responsible for Huawei’s global flagship project to bridge the digital divide as well as thought leadership on the digital divide. In 2015 after an extensive research effort around the world, Adam published Huawei’s white paper on Digital Enablement summarizing the challenges and solutions to bridging the digital divide (www.huawei.com/minisite/digital-enablement). He then set-up a new digital divide project related to e-health in Kenya building on the findings from this white paper working with a Kenyan social enterprise and helping them scale up their e-health project.

Prior to Huawei, Adam worked for Business for Social Responsibility (BSR) for more than 6 years based in Beijing. He worked with both multinational and domestic companies, NGOs and foundations on sustainability strategy, stakeholder engagement and strategic philanthropy initiatives. His work also covered sustainable investment, responsible labour, and access to healthcare.

Before BSR, Adam was based in Xi’an where he established Plan International’s Corporate Partnerships function in China working with corporate partners such as Nokia, Accor, and Hilton on poverty alleviation programs in rural China.

Previously, during several years at AIESEC in Mainland China and the UK, Adam led efforts to teach students about sustainable development and corporate social responsibility, opened new branches of AIESEC at several universities, and arranged for life-changing international internship programs.

Mr Meshack Joram
Chief Executive Officer, institute of Directors (IoD) Kenya

Meshack is a skilled business professional with a wealth of management experience gained over twelve (15) years in Senior Management positions and corporate governance practice. This experience has been gained from working in the private sector across the Finance & Administration, Human Resources, Supplies and Governance sectors. He has a demonstrated track record in deriving value for organizations as a management executive and also as a director.
Meshack is currently engaged as The Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director at the Institute of Directors (Kenya) and has the responsibility of driving the overall strategy and corporate governance agenda of the Institute on behalf of the members. His work experience includes eleven (11) years with The Institute of Directors (Kenya) where he has served in various capacities such as the Administration Manager in Charge of membership recruitment and Finance, and also as Senior Manager in charge of membership, training and projects.
Meshack was in 2018 elected as the Chairman of the African Corporate Governance Network (ACGN) for a two year term. He previously served in the Executive Committee, representing Kenya in the Network’s agenda of promoting Corporate Governance in Africa. He has participated in numerous forums locally and internationally both as an invited guest and as a participant.
Meshack is currently undertaking his Research Project for a Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA) from the Africa Nazarene University and completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Corporate Governance at KCA University. He has a Degree in Economics from Moi University and CPA qualification and is a Certified Trainer in Corporate Governance by the Centre for Corporate Governance in Kenya and the international Finance Corporation (IFC/World Bank) in Board Evaluation and Leadership training. He is a member of the League of Young Professionals and The Institute of Directors (Kenya).

Emma Miloyo

Emma Miloyo is a practicing Architect and partner at Design Source with vast experience in the building industry in the East and Central Africa region. She is also the President of the Architectural Association of Kenya , the first woman to hold this position and was recognized as one of “Top 40 under 40 Women in Kenya” in 2011 and 2018 by the Nation Media Group’s Business Daily. Emma is an Eisenhower Fellow (2015). She is married with 3 beautiful children.
Emma’s lifelong ambition is to inspire young women and help them break the glass ceiling that has limited their success, especially in male-dominated fields like architecture. She is a Director at Kiota School where her passion for education and nurturing of young minds extends.

Mr. Nzomo Mutuku

Nzomo Mutuku is since July 1 2018 the Chief Executive Officer of the Retirement Benefits Authorityin Kenya having served as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Authorityfrom May 1, 2017. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Mutuku worked at the National Treasury as theSenior Advisor, Financial Sector and Acting Director, Financial and Sectoral Affairs Department working on policy matters relating to financial sector development including financial inclusion, efficiency and stability. Previously he was the Chief Manager,Research & Development at the Retirement Benefits Authorityand has also worked in theResearch Department of the Central Bank of Kenya.

                                                                                                                   

Mr Mutuku holds a Masters of Arts degree in Economics as well as a first class honours Bachelor of Arts (Economics) degree from the University of Nairobi and a Certificate in Digital Money from Tufts University. He has also undertaken training in pensions and financial markets in various countries including the UK and Canada and at Harvard University and the Wharton Business School in the United States. He has authored a number of paper on financial sector issues including “the Case for Consolidated Financial Sector Supervision in Kenya“ and “the Impact of the Global Financial Crisis on the Pensions Sector in Kenya” which are widely quoted in the region.

Sachen Gudka
Chairman of Kenya Association of Manufacturers

Sachen Gudka is the Chairman of Kenya Association of Manufacturers.
Mr. Gudka is also the Chief Executive Officer and Director of a diverse group of printing companies in Kenya. The group, which includes Skanem Interlabels and The Rodwell Printing Press, exports printed material to over 15 countries in Africa and is an authorized label supplier for the UK and European retailers.
A graduate of the London School of Economics, he is experienced in working in complex and dynamic corporate structures, energized by his passion to build markets in developing and emerging economies.
He brings a wealth of international experience from his past roles as Manager at Price Waterhouse and as Vice President at Global Controllers, Bankers Trust Company both in London, UK.
Mr. Gudka is a qualified Chartered Accountant, with a widespread knowledge in audit management, mergers and acquisitions for blue chip companies across Europe and Africa. He is an active member of Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
He is a past Chairman of the Oshwal Academy Mombasa and, presently a Trustee of Mabati Trust Kenya.

Mr. Herbert Mwachiro
President, Environment Institute of Kenya

Mr Herbert Mwachiro joined EIK Council in 2013 and he is the current President of Environment Institute of Kenya (EIK). He has served as EIK Chairman since 2014 before being elected the current President under the new EIK constitution amendment, 2018.
Also, he is the current Chairman KFS Coast Conservancy and Chairman KEPSA sector board – Sports, Arts and Culture and a member of the KEPSA Governing Council as a Board Director.
He has over 18 years’ experience in Corporate Social Responsibility, Environmental matters, Public Relations and Marketing. Among the thematic issues, he has dealt with include Corporate Governance, Environment, Climate Change, Employment, Health and Safety, Training, Communities, Human Resources, Anti-Corruption and Labour issues.
A graduate of Moi University, Eldoret. Herbert is a registered NEMA Lead Expert, ISO 22000 Lead Expert, certified EDES Expert, Health and Safety Expert, as well as a JICA, certified Trainer of Trainers. A pioneer Global Compact proponent. Herbert is a member of the KEBS ISO 26000 National Mirror Committee as well as a Director at the Institute for Education in Democracy (IED).

Martin Oduor Otieno
Founder & CEO, The Leadership Group

Martin Oduor-Otieno is a former banker, an Executive Coach, Leadership and Governance Advisor.  He led KCB Bank Group as CEO and board member during a period of rapid transformation and growth; he has worked in senior leadership roles at Barclays Bank in Kenya and South Africa and has recently spent three years as a Partner in the professional services firm, Deloitte, leading their Financial Services Industry practice. Martin has previously worked in the public service as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance/Treasury, Government of Kenya.  He sits on a number of blue chip company boards as the non-executive director. Martin is involved in facilitating world-class board practice and leadership development, which are key areas for business sustainability. He is an alumni of The University of Nairobi, ESAMI/Maastritch Business School, Harvard Business School as well as a holder of a number of qualifications in Executive Coaching, Accounting, Banking, Leadership and Governance. He has received recognition by both the Government of Kenya (Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear – CBS ) and KCA University (Honorary Doctor of Business Leadership degree), among others, for his work in the Leadership arena. David Omwoyo Omwoyo
CEO-Media Council of Kenya

David Omwoyo has a Masters Degree in communications from the University of Leicester UK and a bachelors degree from Tanzania he has researched and written on the role of vernacular media in fanning ethnic animosity during Kenya’s 2007/08 post-election violence. Over the past 6 years, as the Managing Director for Waumini Communications-The Catholic Church owned communications outfit, he was tasked with a project to promote the role of radio in peacebuilding and rural development and oversaw the establishment of more than 18 radios to support devolution. Previously he was in charge of Institutional advancement and donor relations at Egerton University, Njoro. Currently interested in new models to sustain public interest media as a way of ensuring freedom and independence and self-regulation of media to promote both freedom and independence.

Rtd. ARCHBISHOP DR. ELIUD WABUKALA
Chairman - Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)

His Grace Rtd. Arch Bishop Dr. Eliud Wabukala is the Chairman of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), a position to which he was appointed to in January 2017. 

He is the Retired Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya. Dr. Wabukala has previously served as the Chairperson of Kenya National Anti-Corruption Campaign Steering Committee (NACCSC), having been appointed by the former president of the republic of Kenya His Excellency Mwai Kibaki. Prior to his appointment as the Chair of NACCSC he had previously served as an NACCSC Committee Member for five years. He was also the Chairman of GAFCON – Global Future Anglican Conference. Retired Archbishop Wabukala is also a former Chairman of the National Council of Churches of Kenya, a professional teacher with many years of teaching experience and has previously served as the Academic Dean of St. Paul’s University, where he also served as a lecturer.

Dr. Wabukala has been involved in many peace mitigations and reconciliation processes following the 2007 post-election violence in Kenya. He was an active stakeholder in the Interfaith Ufungamano meetings, from where he found his way into the Kofi Annan led peace talks. Archbishop Wabukala has also been involved in the reform process in South Sudan. He is a graduate of Wycliffe College, University

Hon. Dr. Otiende Amollo
Member of Parliament for Rarieda Constituency, Siaya County

Hon. Dr. Otiende Amollo, the Member of Parliament for Rarieda Constituency, Siaya County in the Republic of Kenya, the immediate formerchairperson of the Commission on Administrative Justice (Office of the Ombudsman) and Secretary General of the African Ombudsman & Mediators Association (AOMA) is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya of two decades standing, a Notary Public, accredited Mediator, Commissioner for Oaths and a Certified Public Secretary. He holds an LL.B (Hons) degree from the University of Nairobi, and an LL.M (Public Law) degree from the same University. He also holds a Diploma and Certificate (Human Rights & Humanitarian Law) from the Kenya School of Law and Lund University respectively. In recognition of his contributions towards equality, fairness and the cause of human rights, he was awarded a Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa) by the Senate of the Maseno University in 2014.

Before appointment to chair the Commission on Administrative Justice, he served in the Committee of Experts on Constitutional Review as one of Nine Experts who delivered the Constitution of Kenya 2010.  He has also served as Chairman, Secretary and Council member of the International Commission of Jurists ( Kenya Section), Secretary-General, Deputy Secretary General and Council Member of the East Africa Law Society, Council Member of The Law Society of Kenya, Chairperson and Board Member of Action Aid International – Kenya, founder Board Member of KELIN, Board member of The Kituo cha Sheria, and in the Boards of various other public and private entities.  He was a founder member of the All Africa Human Rights Pressure Group and The Law Forum of the University Of Nairobi.

Dr. Amollo has researched, presented and participated in many Human Rights and Constitutional Law discourses in Kenya and abroad for the past two decades, and has also litigated on various landmark cases on Human Rights and Constitutional Law nationally and internationally. He has undertaken many consultancies in developing national legislation on Land, Insurance, HIV Legislation, Labour Relations and Environmental laws. 

Dr. Amollo has undertaken various Observer and Training Missions in various Countries. In 2003, he was awarded the Antony Dzuya Leadership Award, and also accorded Recognition by the LSK Council in 2002, 2006 and 2007 and by the Board of ICJ Kenya in 2004 and 2006. Together with other Committee Members, he was awarded the 2010 Special Katiba Award by the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights, and the Special Mashujaa Award 2010 by the National Council of Community Based Organisations. In October 2010, he was universally elected the Global Alumni of the month for the International Young Leadership Programme of the US Government.  On 12th December 2010, he was awarded the Honour of Elder of the Burning Spear (EBS) of the Republic of Kenya for his efforts in constitutional transformation of the Republic.

 Dr. Amollo served as Secretary of the Task Force, and key drafter of the HIV and AIDS Control and Management Act.  He later drafted and successfully moved for the adoption of the Rules on Senior Counsel in Kenya. For several years, he served as the Editor of the Advocate and the East African Lawyer, being the official journals of Lawyers in Kenya and East Africa respectively. He is a member of the International Bar Association and the Common wealth Law Association among other professional associations.

Apart from serving in the first Ombudsman office of the Republic of Kenya under the new Constitution, he is also the Secretary General of the African Ombudsmen & Mediators Association (AOMA), having been elected to the position at the AOMA General Assembly meeting at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa in November 2014.

KIPRONO KITTONY
Chairman, Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Mr. Kiprono Kittony is the current National Chairman of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the premier business membership organization in Kenya.   He is a well-known personality in the business leadership circles in Kenya having served in several capacities including being the immediate past Chairman of the Media Owners Association, an influential lobby group of Kenyan media. He is currently the Vice Chairman of ICC World Chambers Federation and also Honorary Consul of Hungary in Kenya.

Mr Kittony has been widely credited with the revival of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry which has been restored to its past glory through a series of transformations during his tenure.

An active player in business, he also chairs on the following boards; – AAR Insurance Limited, Mtech Limited and Radio Africa Group (which he co-founded in 2000), Betway Limited and also serves as CEO of Capital Realtime Limited.

Mr Kittony was educated at the University of Nairobi and USIU and he has the following degrees – Bachelor of Commerce (Hons), Nairobi; Bachelor of Law (Hons) Nairobi and Global Executive MBA from USIU (in Conjunction with Columbia University)

Married with four children, Mr. Kittony also participates actively in several philanthropic projects.
