Michael’s works has always been and continues to be about empowering Africa’s Forgotten Bottom Millions. Leads and works around initiatives around economic empowerment, serving in varying sectors across platforms amongst interdisciplinary sectors within governments, NGO’s and the private sector, in Africa and globally.
Member of the Distributed Ledgers and Artificial Intelligence Taskforce, Ministry of ICT, after completing his role as Minister responsible for the docket of Communication, Information and Technology – County Government of Kisumu. He’s also a Global Fellow – Social Innovation (Rockefeller Foundation), Skoll Foundation Fellow 2019 and previously served as a within the wider creative industries sector, immensely contributed to developing The Road Map for Kenya’s creative industries sector, in collaboration with IBM, positioning the sector as a catalyst to Kenya’s economic growth, outlining how to double Kenya’s current creative industries contribution to GDP.
His formal academic background is in the Sciences (BSc Andrews Michigan), while his work history has primarily been within ICT and policy since 1994.
